Members, Carl and Patty help out at this event each year and are encouraging more of our club members to volunteer as judges (they train you) in this remarkable youth competition. The following is the invitation to volunteer from the Executive Director of Front Range BEST, Tami Kirkland:
I am excited to report we had a very successful Kickoff event with Rocky Mountain BEST at Englewood High School. This year’s theme is about firefighting and is the first game that permits the robot to shoot a projectile game piece!
We are now planning for a successful completion to our 2017 Crossfire season and are in need of your help. We need Littleton Rotary volunteers for the following events:
- Notebook Judge - October 14th from 8:30 AM - 5 PM
- Presentation Judge - October 14th from 8 AM - 2 PM
- Robot Compliance Judge - October 14th from 8 AM - 5 PM (this can be broken into shifts)
- Spirit and Sportsmanship Judge - October 21st from 9 AM - 1 PM
- Robot Compliance Judge - October 21st from 7:30 AM - 4 PM (this can be broken into shifts)
- Founders Award and Most Robust Robot Judge - October 21st from 9 AM - 1 PM
- Exhibit Judge - October 21st from 8 AM - 3 PM
Our events are all at Englewood High School. We will provide training for each of these positions and all areas have rubrics to keep the judging consistent. Thank you for considering these rewarding volunteer positions.
