Patrick Maloney, Chief Inspector for the Brookline Health Department, is responsible for maintaining the public safety in the areas of food and environmental health.  In addition to inspecting restaurants, his department is involved in clearing snow from the sidewalks.  He was introduced by Dr. Gloria Rudisch.

A division of the Brookline Public Health Department, Environmental Health is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive program of environmental health services, which includes inspections, compliance, and enforcement activities, monitoring of environmental hazards, and consultation and guidance to citizens and governmental agencies regarding environmental health issues -- in short, everything from monitoring mosquitos that carry disease, to inspecting restaurants, to ensuring that sidewalks are cleared of snow in a timely manner.  It is his office that issues our permits for the Pancake Breakfast and for selling food at the Marathon.  For more information, see the Environmental Health website.
