On Thursday, June 18, 2015, the Rotary Club of Brookline honored Robert "Bo" Winiker and Betsy DeWitt for their dedicated service to the Town of Brookline and the greater community.

 

 
Betsy DeWitt retired this year after 35 years of service to the Town of Brookline.  From PTO President at Lincoln School she went on to lead the Brookline Community Foundation and to play a key role in the development of programs for low-cost housing and support of the disadvantaged people of Brookline.  She continues to be active in work to end domestic violence.  She is honored for her public service.

Robert "Bo" Winiker has been a member of Brookline Rotary since 1977 when he graduated from the New England Conservatory.  In addition to his impressive musical career, he is always willing to help with Rotary events and has provided music for meetings and events throughout the years.  As Allan MacPherson said in introducing Bo, he has played for two Presidents, and for countless family events in the area, “including my daughter Dianne MacPherson-Laffey’s wedding.  Bo will conduct the Boston Pops on New Year’s eve again this year.  He was honore”d as a friend, neighbor, citizen and fellow Rotarian.

In addition to their Brookline Rotary awards each received a Citation from the Massachusetts Senate, and a Paul Harris award for community service from Rotary International.
