FOR THOSE ROTARIANS WHO MISSED THE MEETING ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2014.

We held our second and last Election Forum Program at Tuesday’s meeting. We heard from the Candidates for the contested Colorado State House District 56 race, Representative, Diane Mitsch Busch and challenger, Chuck McConnell. Unopposed Candidates for the following Routt County Offices also made an appearance and presented their views: Sheriff, Garret Wiggins, for Routt County Sheriff; Gary Peterson for Routt County Assessor and Kim Bonner for Routt County Clerk and Recorder. We thank the Candidates for their presentations and participation in our Election Forum II. A BIG Thank You, again to Geneva Taylor for organizing and moderating the Forum. This is Geneva’s forte and she does a magnificent job with it. Thank you, again, so much Geneva for all your efforts. Thank you too to John Kuhn who served as our time-keeper and kept the Program on track.

We also celebrated our October Birthdays with a resounding rendition of “Happy Birthday” to: Kristal Eckley, John Holloway, Alice Klauzer, John Kuhn, Eric Rabesa and Steve Sehnert.

Thought for the Day was offered by Karen McRight, who shared axioms from her Grandmother – Thank you Karen.

Thank you too to our Greeters, Jenny Wall and Mark Fitzgerald. Jenny introduced our guests and visiting Rotarians. We had a lot of guests today at the meeting and Jenny kept it all in check. Thank you Jenny.

John Kuhn announced the clay shooting outing for the Club.

Lynaia South filled us in on the student interviews for the International Exchange, a rewarding experience, Lynaia would like more Club members to share.

Kris Hammond took care of Good News for us and we netted $225.00.

Kris advised me after the meeting that he was approached by a Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow, Dave Bullard, who was unable to make the meeting, but extended an invitation to Club members to attend a “Biz-Net” meeting on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 5:30-7:00 pm at Karma Wine Bar, 737 Lincoln Ave, Steamboat Springs, CO. Dave is a Jazz Guitar Musician and will be playing at the meeting.

      Attendance - 57%

Next meeting, Tuesday, October 14, 2014, Noon at “The Grand,” with District 5440 Governor, Phil      Murphy.

Respectfully submitted,

Jim Moylan, Club President
