FOR THOSE ROTARIANS WHO MISSED THE MEETING ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2014
Tuesday, October 28, 2014 was “Fritz Aurin Day.” We recognized and Honored Fritz Aurin with our Appreciation Award,  a Paul Harris Fellow Award and  a Gift Certificate to Haymaker Golf Course for his continuing and dedicated support of our Club. Happily, Fritz’s spouse Bethany was able to accompany Fritz and witness our honoring him on: “His Day.” Fritz, in turn, shared the awards with Bethany. Many thanks to Brian Harvey for being the catalyst and intermediary in this whole process and making it such a surprise for Fritz and Bethany. Brian was key to the whole operation.
Dr. Brian Harrington gave us our: Thought for the Day. Brian shared some quotes from an infectious disease physician from years ago. Particularly timely in terms of “Ebola” and other concerns we face today. Thank you, Brian.
In that vein, Happy Birthday – Dr. Jonas Saulk – inventor of the first Polio Vaccine.
Thank you to our Greeters, Lynaia South and Ashley Kane. Lynaia also introduced our guests and visiting Rotarians. Thank you, Lynaia.
We first recognized Coleman Cook, for stepping up in Michael Roberts’ absence to organize the “Landscaping Crew” at the Peace Pavilion. Then, we recognized the: “Landscaping Crew.” The crew planted 32 dogwood bushes, which will probably be the last major activity at the Peace Pavilion, before we shut down for the Ski Season. Thank you all - what a Project! (Ellen Kendall gave us an up-date on Michael and Michael remains in our thoughts and prayers for a complete and quick recovery.)
The Nominating Committee is seeking Applications for the 2015-2016 BOD. Applications are on the Web-site. Please consider serving on our BOD.
Something happened with our “New Member –‘Seasoned Member’” Lunch Raffle…
We honored and recognized our Rotarians of the Month, Carol Parish and Steve Sehnert for their outstanding work on The Barn Dance.  Thank you so much Carol and Steve for your countless
hours of work on that event and thank you to the Barn Dance Committee.

Good News was capably handled by Brian Harvey, as usual. We netted $144.20 on an abbreviated Good News.  Thank you, again, Brian.

We had one of our best Programs this Rotary year. Cheryl Krumrie introduced her husband, Tim
Krumrie, who gave us an insider’s view of the National Football League. Tim showed a film of his career, punctuated with insightful comments and some great stories. Not one person left before Tim was done. Thank you so much Tim for sharing those experiences, the vast majority of us can only live vicariously.
