SPENCER TILLMAN

AUTHOR / BUSINESSMAN / SPEAKER / NFL & COLLEGE FOOTBALL ANALYST

Spencer Tillman, a best-selling author, speaker and Fox Sports broadcaster where he is teamed with his former CBS Sports on-air partner Tim Brando. 

 

Tillman, is a longtime Houston area resident.  A graduate of the University of Oklahoma and a football All-America running back for OU (1982-86) and was the captain of the OU 1985 National Championship team that defeated Penn State, 25-10, in the Orange Bowl.

 

He received several awards during his playing career, including UPI Player of the Year in the Conference; Conference Football Newcomer of the Year and MVP of the 1987 Orange Bowl.  He placed fifth in the Heisman Trophy voting in 1983.

 

His professional football career began in Houston where he played for the Houston Oilers. He was traded to the San Francisco 49ers where he co-captained with Joe Montana and Ronnie Lott that won Super Bowl XXIV (24) when they defeated the AFC champion Denver Broncos.

 

Tillman, served as WABC- TV's sports anchor in New York from 1997 to 1999 and spent 10 years as a sports anchor for KPRC-TV Houston. Tillman joined CBS Sports in 1999 and for the next sixteen years served as lead studio analyst for COLLEGE FOOTBALL TODAY, the CBS Television Network's pre-game studio show.

 

Tillman continues to call the Houston Texans preseason games for owner Bob McNair and the Texans organization on ABC KTRK (Channel 13).

 

Tillman is the CEO of Axiom Sports Productions Inc. a full-service Broadcast Production concern, located in Sugar Land Texas, with an office in New York.  Spencer is a prominent speaker, giving insights and motivation to varied audiences around the country.

 

He is an advisor and board member of many organizations including the Methodist Hospital in Houston. Tillman earned a bachelor's degree in journalism with a double major in communication.  He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and lives in Sugarland, Texas, with his wife, Rita, and their four daughters, Alisa, Blair and Mir and Bailey.Spencer
