Eight graduates of the class of 2014 from area high schools were awarded scholarships totaling $10,000 on May 30. Six students, representing five high schools, were selected for $1,000 scholarships based on a combination of grades, references, scholarship essay and overall potential for success in a college/or higher level educational environment.  $1,000 scholarship recipients include Lindae Brinson and Karlie Dallas of Ellison High School,Darin Garrett of Harker Heights High School,Jonathan Rivera Rodriquez of Pathways High School,Angela Bonilla of Killeen High School and Anessa Pitts of Shoemaker High School.

Two special scholarships were also awarded in honor of Rotarians.  Kazandra Munoz, Johnson of Ellison High School was awarded the Jerry Johnson $1500 scholarship. Kyana Lemons of Shoemaker High School received the Dan Bray $2500 scholarship. Both were active members of the Rotary Club of Killeen Heights who passed away.Image
