Colel Chabad - Charity in Israel
Rabbi Lewis is one of the directors of development of Colel Chabad, the oldest continusly operating charity organization in Israel. Colel Chabad's sole purpose is to help the most destitute residents of Israel while still preserving and enhancing their dignity.


 

Shmuel Lewis, married, father of 7 children, is an ordained Rabbi. Shown preparing hot meals for the homebound at Mea Shearim, Jerusalem,. Rabbi Lewis is one of the directors of development of Colel Chabad, the oldest continuously operating Charity organization in Israel. Colel Chabad was established in 1788 by Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, founder of the Chabad Lubavitch movement.

Colel Chabad's sole purpose has always been to help the most destitute residents of Israel in a manner that preserves and enhances their dignity. For over 200 years Colel Chabad has remained faithful to its mission to help regardless of age, gender, marital status, ethnic background, location, or degree of observance.

The Colel Chabad charity box continues to be the symbol of pure Tzedakah, gracing tens of thousands of homes and offices throughout the world.

Colel Chabad is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization.
