I would like to invite you to participate in The Rotary Club of Marshall’s Parade of Flags by subscribing to and proudly displaying the American flag in front of your place of business or in your neighborhood. It is my dream and that of the Rotary Club of Marshall that the City of Marshall becomes a wave of the Red, White and Blue on each of the flag holidays listed below:
Maybe they’ve seen a need in our community and wondered how they could help. Maybe they want to use their professional skills to help others — or even learn new skills. Maybe they’re seeking connections with other service-minded professionals in our community or abroad.
From Keith Feille, chairman of the flag committee come these words "We have 730-PLUS flags out this week with more orders coming."
Halfway through the second year of Marshall Rotary's Parade Of Flags project, we are far ahead of subscription expectations, and thanks to dedicated flag team leaders and everyone else who has pitched in, our finances are rock solid. We have moved our flags and other equipment to secure storage buildings now, where they can be inspected and repaired as needed, and replaced when necessary. Our heartfelt thanks to Sullivan's Funeral Home for letting us use their equipment storage building to help us get started, which allowed us to purchase and assemble the initial flags and time to develop a strong customer base.
Many thanks to the Twelve Way Foundation volunteers for supplying much needed help in the initial phase of the project. These folks do not get very many chances to do something worthwhile like this. Special thanks to the Harrison County Sheriff's Department and the Harrison County Probation Department for supplying much needed labor and skills

I know you will be as proud as I am,
Marshall Rotary Club's 2013 "Parade of Flags" will be the second year of "Showing our colors" in Marshall. This community service project is the club's way of showing that the people and businesses in Marshall really care and respect the sacrifices being made by the men and women of the armed forces, past, present and future.
The Rotarians in the Rotary Club of Marshall proudly subscribe to the project themselves, through their businesses and individually. They also participate in the project's organization and implementation by securing the best flags, (Made in USA) assembling the flags, preparing and installing special mounts for each flag, and installing them on each of the seven patriotic holidays each year.
In the very first year these Rotarians have assembled, marked and mounted almost 600 American flags at over a hundred locations in Marshall. It is our sincere hope that the spirit of this project will inspire all who see "Old Glory" proudly waving in Marshall; and encourage others to join in this noble cause.
Daren Horton, President 2012-2013
