On September 18, 2021 the Braintree Rotary Club is once again hosting Electronic Waste Day, an event that helps area residents safely recycle old electronics. Electronics contain some hazardous materials that when disposed of in the regular waste stream can cause environmental problems. This is a great project to get involved with at a time when our Club is starting an Environmental Committee. There are other Rotary clubs helping in the e-waste sector too.

While planning to hold this event on September 18, Braintree Electric Light Department (BELD) contacted our Club about partnering at the EWD event (thank you to Jeff Kunz for connecting us). How is BELD partnering with us you ask? BELD will be hosting an electric car (EV) demonstration and learning session at the Pond Street location all morning. BELD is also helping spread the word of the event via the BELD September newsletter. We are doubling down on this eco-friendly day with BELD's partnership!

What can you do to support EWD?
-collect your old electronics from your work or home and bring them on EWD
-spread the words to friends, family, neighbors, etc. about this event
-volunteer in the morning from 9a-12p to help facilitate the collection of and payments for the electronics

Thank you to all who have helped in the past and will help again at this EWD. Again, much appreciation to Mike Ford and BELD for partnering on this event.
