Rotary has declared war! But it's all in good fun and designed to help our community radio station, KPCW, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Thanks to Rotarian Blaire Fuelner for his foresight 40 years ago and to Rotarian Renai Bodley Miller for her current leadership. And a shoutout to Rotarian Larry Warren for conceiving this idea while he was station manager and for managing the program this year.

If you're new to Rotary, this annual battle pits our own Park City Rotary Club against Park City Sunrise and now Twilight in a battle to see who can raise the most money for KPCW in a two-hour on-air battle. It's all in good fun, with everyone winning with the money we raise for KPCW. What kind of difference does Rotary make to the community? Since its inception in 2013, Rotary Wars has brought in more than $100,000 to our local radio station.

How can you help?

• Make your donation to KPCW now! Just write "Noon Rotary" in the Comments box so our club gets credit!
• Tell your friends to pledge during those two hours identifying Park City Rotary Club.
• Make a call-in pledge to (435) 649-9004 during the Rotary Wars period in the name of Park City Rotary Club. Or use the online link leading up to the August 20 battle.

Oh, and we are the defending champions! So plan on Sunrise being out to regain its past title.
