The Marine Corps League Lakeland Detachment #744 holds a monthly breakfast every 3rd Saturday of the month at the American Legion Hall, 65 Oak Street, Oakland, NJ 07436. Our dear friend and fellow Secaucus Rotarian, Dr. Pierre Guibor, a Marine Veteran is a member. Bob, Phil and I went in June, Phil and I again in July and had a great breakfast, and I met PDG Dominic Jengo and his wife Nancy at the August breakfast. We met some wonderful Marine Veterans and others. Members of the Marine Corps League do all the cooking and serving, and everything was delicious. And believe me, you won't leave hungry.

The cost for this is only $12 for adults, Seniors pay just $10, and children under 5 years old are free.

This will support the Lakeland Detachment #744, so let's join our friend Pierre in fellowship with the other Veterans.

	Rotary's involvement in polio eradication began in 1979 with a five-year commitment to provide and help deliver polio vaccine to six million children of the Philippines. Following similar commitments in other countries, in the early 80's Rotary started planning for the most ambitious program in its history — to immunize all of the world's children against polio, and in 1985 PolioPlus was born. Since then, Rotary’s dedication to the global eradication of polio has remained constant. This year, 2023, marks the 38th anniversary of PolioPlus and more than three decades of progress and challenges the program has faced. But through the efforts of Rotary, over 99 percent of the world’s population lives in regions certified polio-free. The goal of eradication is closer than ever.
