Ron Christopher, Chairman, Greater Buffalo Metropolitan Crime Stoppers, will be the featured speaker at the September 2 meeting of West Seneca Rotary.
 
Greater Buffalo Metropolitan Crime Stoppers is a not-for-profit public group serving the counties in Western New York and Ontario, Canada. Their objective is: “…to make our communities safe from violent felons, educate students on crime prevention and remove illegal weapons from our streets.
 
The Greater Buffalo Metropolitan Crime Stoppers is an important public service program that assists law enforcement and the community by helping in the effort to make Western New York and Southern Ontario safer. The organization is not new and has extensive experience, having been in operation since 1989.
Crime Stoppers functions under a board of directors whose main functions is to raise funds to pay anonymous informants. The information received by Crime Stoppers is shared with appropriate law enforcement agencies. It is then the responsibility of law enforcement to investigate, arrest and recover stolen property, narcotics and illegal firearms.
