At our March 15 meeting, we were pleased to formally welcome two new members into our Club. The pandemic clearly did not deter their enthusiasm for Rotary. Membership Chair Travis Magoulias led the induction ceremony with assistance from Dave Kromphardt, Bill Keminpers, and Loretta Meeks.

Christine Banks (image on left) is a transfer to our Club. She previously was a member of the Rotary Clubs of Jacksonville and Mason City and served three terms as President of the Rotary Club of Mason City. She was also the Interact-Rotaract District Chair for almost three years. She is an administrator for the management group of the Mason City Area Nursing Home. She recently relocated to Springfield. Christine’s favorite Disney movie is Cinderella. Loretta Meeks virtually presented her with her blue member badge and will serve as her Club mentor. We are happy to have this experienced and active Rotarian in our Club.

Sai Kanu (image on right) is a native of Springfield and graduated from UIS. She is an auditor for the federal Department of Defense. She is a first-time member of Rotary, but her father was a Rotarian in Sierra Leone, Africa. Her favorite Disney movie is The Lion King. Bill Kempiners presented her with her red new member badge and will serve as her Club mentor. Sai told us that she has less travel in her work now, which gives her more time for public service, and we are happy that she chose to join us in serving the community.

Please join us in welcoming these two new members to our Club.
