Presentation by UIS Chancellor on November 20

On Monday, November 20 University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) Chancellor Susan Koch and international student Christina Shao presented a special program at our Rotary Club meeting. Chancellor Cook provided an update on developments at UIS and spoke about the large number of international students who attend the university. She emphasized the opportunities UIS provides for international and all students. She introduced Christina Shao, an international student from China who is graduating soon with a B.A. in accounting. Christina provided a special treat for members by playing two traditional songs on the Gzheng. Christina participated in a special program at UIS that encourages attendance by international students with musical interests and talents. Chancellor Cook and Christina answered numerous questions about UIS programs and the experiences of the international students. We had a delightful evening.

Our Club meetings vary throughout the month and feature special programs, Rotary nights, social nights,  and community service projects. Check the calendar to see what's coming up.
