If you gave the Springfield Rotary Foundation $250 or more in 2013 and
wish to take a federal tax deduction in 2013 for that gift, you must
have a letter setting forth your donations for the year in your
possession prior to filing your return. If you do not, getting the
letter later will not help as the deduction is lost if you do not have
the actual letter in hand when you file.

If you gave the Springfield Rotary Foundation less that a total of
$250 in 2013, your canceled checks or charge card statements are
sufficient for the deduction.

As a courtesy the 100th Anniversary Committee is sending out
additional letters for the $250 plus donors, with the necessary tax
language. This should be sufficient for the deduction.

If you gave the Springfield Rotary Foundation (not the RI Foundation)
$250 or more in 2013 and do not receive your letter, please contact
Vicki Megginson [megginson.vicki@comcast.net] and we will provide you
with a duplicate.
