Mark your calendar now! For our October 18 club meeting, we will visit the Springfield and Central Illinois African American History Museum (AAHM). Located on 1440 Monument Avenue at an entrance to Oak Ridge Cemetery, this museum features programs and exhibitions on African American heritage and contributions. During the time of our visit, we will have the opportunity to learn more about the museum and see an exhibition on Negro Baseball Leagues (Negro Leagues Beisbol). This exhibition honors and explores the connections of African American baseball history to Hispanic cultures, communities and countries. Includes profiles of players and a timeline of baseball history. The exhibition was produced by the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, MO  and is on loan from them. It will be at the AAHM  from through October 30, 2021. Stay tuned for more details on our visit to this wonderful museum.
