Our citrus sale supports charities!

Thanks to all Springfield Rotarians who sold and all the customers who purchased citrus.  The citrus is good for us and our customers, and the proceeds from the citrus sale support good causes. This year customers and members donated about 10,000 oranges to the Central Illinois Food Bank, which helped the Food Bank reach their goal to provide more fresh produce to their clients. Our Rotary Warehouse Manger (Bill Smith) was interviewed by Channel 20 News about the donation of the oranges to the Food Bank.

Rotarian Yosh Golden orchestrated the purchase and donation of eight 40 lb. boxes of oranges to Ridgely Elementary School so that each student could enjoy a fresh, juicy orange.  Thanks to Yosh and the Rotarians who helped her purchase the fruit.

Special thanks to our warehouse manager and all the Rotarians who helped in the warehouse. All of the proceeds from the sales of grapefruit and oranges support grants to charities for worthwhile projects that combat hunger, promote literacy, and support other community needs.
