Friday November 7, 2014, 7:30 am at the Lanam Club in Andover, Dawna Levenson, Massachusetts Institute for Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management, Director of Admissions will be speaker. Levenson will discuss how the Sloan School has evolved to better equip MBA’s to work in and manage the new economy. She will share how the school has drawn lessons from MIT’s forward-thinking culture and instilled them into the Sloan School curriculum. She will also share some surprising facts about the students who are selected from a crowded field of would-be entrepreneurs.

After graduating from Sloan with both a BS and MS in management science in 1984, Dawna Levenson joined Accenture for a near 18-year stint at the consulting firm. When she left the business as a partner in 2002, Levenson decided to pursue a different career. After reconnecting with the Sloan School as a contract reader of student applications, Levenson was offered a job in the MIT Professional Education office. She moved on to become associate director for Sloan’s Master of Finance program in 2013 and then in February 2013 she was named director of MBA admissions. That year, applications to the Sloan School increased 7.5% to 4,300 applications. Just over 15% of those who applied, just 650 students, were admitted to the program.
