Congressman Mike Coffman

Congressman Mike Coffman has been serving his country for over 30 years as both a public servant and member of the United States military. 

Beginning with his election to the Colorado House of Representatives in 1988, he has served in the Colorado State House and Colorado State Senate as well as held the offices of State Treasurer and Secretary of State. Congressman Coffman is also a former small business owner. He started an Aurora-based property management company, which grew to over 20 employees. 

In 2005, he resigned from the office of State Treasurer to voluntarily return to active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps for an assignment in Iraq and finished his tour of duty in 2006.

Mike Coffman is the only veteran in the Colorado delegation and the only member of Congress to have served in both the first Gulf War and in the Iraq War.

His personal awards include the Combat Action Ribbon, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.

He currently represents the 6th District of Colorado in the U.S. House of Representatives where he serves on the House Armed Services Committee and is Chairman of the House Veteran’s Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight & Investigations.
