Kristin Haight, Executive Director of the Kennebunkport Historical society, spoke to Kennebunk Portside Rotarians about the many events and activities the organization has planned for the year. She was excited to report that the society has formed a young person’s board to plan and implement activities of interest to children and teens.

Kennebunk Portside Rotary donates a children’s book to one of the RSU 21 school libraries in honor of each speaker. Pictured here, Kristin inscribes the book, Just Ask, Be different, Be Brave, Be You by US Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. It will be delivered to one of the district’s elementary schools. Kristin has written and published her own children’s book, “I like Maine Days: A beach bedtime story" in preparation for the birth of her first grandchild.

It's back to school time and we wanted to show some of our local teachers some love as they head back to their classrooms.  We were at Consolidated School delivering $50 Amazon Gift Cards to each of the classroom teachers to help get their classrooms ready. Across the country, our teachers need our support and we're proud to do a small part here in our community.
