The Ken
10/18/2021

Fine master: Mike Ford (for Jim Logan)
Table Attendance and Split Club: Linda Sroka
Invocation: Steve Blass (for John Coogan)
The Ken: Donna DiFrancesco

President Dick called the meeting to order at 12:34 p.m. with a gong and the Pledge of Allegiance. Steve Blass led us in prayer.

Announcements-The party scheduled for Thursday 10/21 at the Howling Rooster has been postponed until further notice. Steve Blass is looking for speakers. Cathy P. suggested UB Health, Compeer, reaching out to Sue J. for a list of previous charities grant recipients and Chuck will provide a list of foundation grant recipients.

We had no speaker scheduled for today, so Chuck spoke to us about the $20 million grant “Rescue Act” he’s been promoting and working on. The Town of Tonawanda Supervisor was giving $2 million to local businesses who met a certain criterion. There were approximately 459 businesses eligible and after a very extensive process, which included Chuck and 1 other person visiting each of the 500 applicants, each of the “winners” will receive $4,300. The other applicants who applied weren’t eligible due to their locations. The recipients will have to provide how the money will be spent and it is taxable income.

Linda Sroka suggested that club members be scheduled as speakers so the rest of the club can find out what everyone does. This can be discussed at the next board meeting. Speaking of the board meeting, due to new conflicts, it will be held on Friday, October 29 at 8 a.m. at the Ken-Ton Chamber office.

Split club was won by Dick-He’s now $10 richer
Ace of Spades-Linda picked the King of Clubs-more money for next week!
Fine master Mike Ford went easy on everyone: We were fined $1 for missing pin, $1 for missing name tag, and $1 if you weren’t wearing Buffalo Bills gear.

Meeting ended and everyone enjoyed lunch.
