The Ken

October 25, 2021

Fine Master: Mike Ford for Jim Logan

Table Attendance: Linda Sroka

The Ken: Donna DiFrancesco

Invocation: Tim Glor for John Coogan

President Dick called the meeting to order, without the gong, at 12:37 p.m. and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.  Tim Glor led our small group in prayer.

Announcements made by Cathy P. The Chamber is hosting a “Meet the Candidate” night tomorrow, Tuesday 10/26/2021 at the Brounshidle Post at 7:30 p.m. Please come out for support!

Cathy also promoted the Ken-Ton Holiday Gala 2021 which will be held on Tuesday, December 7 from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the Park Country Club. I will be sending out a separate email which will include the flier for this event, and includes cost and all other important information. She would like all RSVP’s by November 17.

Tim Glor won $10 for the split club and Joe Arcara pulled the 9 of Diamonds.

Rick Graham put in a $20 fine for his confession on taking a 2-week European vacation by cruise (I think). They took an 8-hour flight into Amsterdam, 1st class, and said the food was better on the plane than on the cruise! He mentioned the heavy COVID protocol’s everywhere they went. Masks and covid testing were the norm. Mike Ford confessed to a work conference in Long Island, also with many covid protocols still in place. Tim Glor confessed to having to wear a mask and gloves for 40 years. No fine for Tim.

Gary R and Joe A showed up at the Howling Rooster for the get together last week Thursday because they never got (or read) the email that said it was canceled. Gary wasn’t fined because he stayed for dinner. Joe was fined because he didn’t stay to support a local business. Then Mike quizzed us on “Trivia for Geniuses”. Silly thing to do to our group, but it did raise some money because we were all fined. Rick G. did know that the first New Year’s ball drop in Times Square was 12/31/1907.

Again, there was no speaker so the meeting was adjourned and we all enjoyed lunch.
