President Dick opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance at 12:28. Rick Graham led us in prayer that included words for Art Travers family as they are going through a difficult time.
50/50 Split Donna picked up some lunch money $12. Cathy drew the 2 of clubs.
Announcements: We received a thank you from Kenmore West Community Club.
Larry introduced Char first so he would not forget. Smart.
Also from the Kenton School District superintendent Tino Cimato and Kelly White. Michelle Locket, Rich Adams, Bill Bruckers nephew Dan and his wife Jean' and Friona.
Confessions-Dick won 2 baskets at the gala, he fined himself $10. Larry $2 for being on time!
I couldn't keep up with the trivia but we did learn a few thing, none that I can remember.
This meeting was special as President dick awarded Bill Brucker the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship Award. Larry said a few words about Bills accomplishments. He became a Rotarian in 1982. His father was a Rotarian and between the 2 of them have over 100 years of memberships! Bill was very surprised and grateful. Congratulations Bill!
Lisa Craft and Lisa Donaldson from Kenton School administration our guest speakers, they sponsor a section of The Niagara River Greenway as well as the garden at the Senior Center. Lisa thanked us for the $1000 grant that we donated. They are working with the UB Rotaract Club and hope to put a pollinator garden in around springtime. We were reminded that April 22 and 23 are Earth Day cleanups. The students have to initiate a project, plan it and carry it through. Excellent presentation.
We are thrilled to hear that Tino is joining the club,
great way to end 2021.
