ZOOM, the March 16, 2021, Rotary Board meeting of the Geneva Lake Rotary Club.
 
Opening
Opening is the regular meeting of the Geneva Lake West Rotary Club was called to order at 5 p.m. on March 16, 2021, via ZOOM, by Jim Reuland.

Approval of Minutes
There was an approval of the agenda, the approval of minutes was approved from the previous meeting.
 
Treasurer Report
Refer to the email that Don Vandello sent out on March 15, 2021.  Approved financials via email from board.

Old business
           
            P.E.T.S (President Elect Training Seminar)
Don Holst (incoming President), and Phill Klamm (President-Elect) have both attend the required online seminars.
 
            Holiday Food Baskets
$50.00 Gift cards (Left from unredeemed gift certificates) have been distributed to Food Pantries (2) and Schools (8).  5ea to the Food Pantries and 10ea to each of the 8 schools.
 
            Future Meeting schedule
We will resume in person meetings, twice monthly, beginning April 1st, at The Abbey Resort, Sand Bar room (see meeting schedule on website)
 
            Annual Dinner
Heidi Alten has arranged our Annual Dinner for, April 29th, at The Abbey, 4:30pm to 7:00pm.  We hope to make our Service Above Self Award Presentation at this meeting.  Entertainment will be provided by the BFHS Jazz Band, the Club will make a donation to the school. ($400.00).
 
            Golf Outing
Date has been set for May 27th at Abbey Springs.  Toby Steivang is this year’s chairman, details will follow.
 
            Corn Brat 2021
Chairman, Phill Klamm, was unable to attend; but provided an agenda for the Committee Meeting on May 23rd.  They will be discussing the possibility of moving the event to Devil’s Lane Park, and the associated changes required.  They have several suggestions for improving the event, and will be reporting back to the Board on April 20th.
 
New business
             Funding Request: 
                        Village of Walworth PD
Request for funding 2 AEDs (Automated External Defibrillator) Cost $1559.00 ea.  Board approved funding for one outright and Club match program for the second.  The Club will match up to $800 toward the purchase of a second unit.  Anyone wishing to donate should contact Don Vandello (dhvandello@charter.net)
 
            SAS Teachers and Senior Student Recognition
Mike Hinske requested Board guidance on this usual Club activities.  The Board agreed to forego Student recognition for the remainder of this year.
 
We will attempt to recognize teachers at our meetings of 4/14/15, and 5/13.
 
Addendum:  Mike has reported that the majority of the schools do not want single out one teacher to honor, since all have worked extremely hard during this pandemic.  We have decided to obtain enough certificates to honor all of the teachers; and hope to present these to the Administrators of each school at the previously agreed meetings.
 
           Diploma Endorsement
It is not feasible to present these awards at a Club Meeting, and still manage to social distancing.  Instead, we hold the ceremony at the High School on May 20th, at 11am, followed by a regular Club Meeting at the Abbey immediately following.
 
Adjournment
Meeting was adjourned at 6:21 p.m. by Jim Reuland.  The next general meeting will be at 5 p.m. on Tuesday April 20, 2021, in the Exemplar Financial Network office at 630 Kenosha Street, Walworth, Wisconsin, 53184.
