Steve Wilson - The Life of a Football Referee & More...
 
Steve Wilson has been a resident of SaddleBrooke HOA 2 for the past five years. He retired as a full-time pastor and referee in the National Football League for 15 years. Prior to that, he spent 18 years officiating in major college football. Steve and his wife Terri retired here from Spokane Washington.

He currently is on staff at two different churches in the area... Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene and the Community Church here in SaddleBrooke

Coronado K-8 Dictionary Visit
                             
L to R  Linda Turbyfill, Julia Young, Joe Dylewski and Brian Ticknor participated in Saddlebrooke 
Rotary's annual Dictionary Visit at Coronado K-8 School in Catalina, Arizona.  Each year Coronado's 3rd grade classes (72 students) are presented with new Dictionaries/Almanacs which they can use throughout the school year.  These books are given to the students to take home when they graduate into 4th grade for family members to learn from. Saddlebrooke Rotary Club's Community Service Director, Linda Turbyfill, has headed this ten year project for three years.  This service is made possible by Amanda Magelli who is the Assistant Principal at Coronado K-8. 
Professional College and Professional Football Referee
Doug May presents Steve Wilson a plaque to thank him for speaking to Saddlebrooke Rotary.  Steve is a Saddlebrooke Resident who has has an illustrious career as a referee for College and Professional Football.  This dynamic man is from Spokane, Washington and now acts at a Pastor for Saddlebrooke Community Church.
Jay McCall-Presidio Rotary on Recruitment Essentials
 
Jay McCall has been successful in recruiting new members as he has started new clubs in District 5500.  Jay started Dove Mountain Rotary Club 10 years ago and it continues to thrive.  He also started Foothills Rotary and Presidio Rotary Downtown where he is a member today.  Mr. McCall stresses that the keys to Rotary Club survival are Leadership and Membership.  The two are intertwined.  
The Port of Tucson
Neil Deppe presents Mike Levin with a thank you plaque.  Mike is a representative from The Port of Tucson, which is 
Arizona's active Inland Port.  This active port makes it possible for Tucson to participate in International and Domestic Inter mobile Boxcar Train Service.  Most importantly, the port is 
Southern Arizona and Mexico's connection to the world by sending inland products to sea ports worldwide and reduced export cost.

Norm Beasley, former President and Honorary Member of Saddlebrooke Rotary, shows us the Big Band Era with his trombone and Willie Nelson performs some County Music for us.
 

Department of Agriculture Weights and Measures
Doug May Welcome Kade Creviston.  Kade is an Investigator with the Arizona Department of Agriculture.  He spoke to us about the importance of the Weights and Measures Services Division in making sure we receive the proper of gasoline at the pump and food in the produce and meat divisions in the grocery store.
