ANNOUNCEMENTS:
 
Clarice: met with City Councillors, Ed, Chair of Port Dalhousie Committee and reps from the Seaway regarding the situation about the CAP fence removal.   Outcome is the Seaway no longer wants to pay for the removal of the fence. Clarice has an email from the Seaway stating that they were prepared in fact to remove it and store it. More news to follow.
 
Tracey: Called a short Community and World Affairs Meeting following the regular meeting (Marlene, Clarice, Phil, Marc, John, Ellen)
 
Al Scales: Called a New Generations meeting following the regular meeting (Willy Emilio, Peter, Randi, Mary, Linda, Milica)
 
Jon Asplin: announced that the South Club is hosting another get together at Cats Caboose. All are invited, just buy your own drinks. There are always  free munchies. An email will circulate.
 
Linda: Governor and Assistant Governor will be in attendance next week.
 
Linda: Announced that Chris will be back next week after a long leave. Chris gave Linda a cheque for 322 $ from staff donations.
Linda: A few members missed the Member Appreciation night: The following members were honored:
. Jim gifted as the most lovable character in the club; Joy received a party fascinator for her role in Fellowship: Milica received gardening knee pads as Chair of Plant Sale. Tracey received a Globe Christmas Ball as Chair of World and Community Service. Sue received a Magic Sketch as a reward for her computer savvy.
 
Willy: Will send out an email to relay the progress re Ticket Sales. Lobsterfest Meeting following next week's meeting.
 
Sue: officially accepted her position on the Board.

George Scott is founder of Niagara Beesway. He spoke to us about the cutting edge of bee work being developed here in Niagara. Please consult his website as the information he provided is too extensive to recap.

Milica presented George with a book as part of our Literacy Program as well as a bookmark especially made for George - it's a bee.
 
Linda reminded all of the blue box on site at every meeting for the following purposer: Drop in a note of suggestions, comments, positivie criticism all of which will be given over to the Members' Well Being Committee for consideration.

. Sandi - Scott Robinson successfully completed a crossing of Lake Ontario raising funds for his project Kayak for the Cure.
. Tracey feeling well and thanked all for the support over the past months.
. Gary  had a great time at the Race Track and congrats to all who participated with Ribfest. Earnings were the highest ever at over 6K.
. Jane thanked Jim for introducting her with her full name legal name she just goes by Jane
. Jim thanked all for the cards and well wishes while he was ill. He discovered through Ancestry.com that his wife is related to Sir Adam Beck. He also thanked Gary and Sandi for all the hours spent at Ribfest. He is not riding the Big Move Cancer Ride so asked that all support Annette and Gino.
. Mary loved ribfest, Fort Erie Racetrack and guest speaker
. Bruce welcomed back Jim and Tracey and happy going away to visit Terry
. Jon for the racetrack and sorry for the computer hack
. Marc wants to start a Facebook Page to help the plight of the bees
. Phil happy that he got a muscle car; shiny red Charger
. Clarice went to Kingston to meet dear friends
. Bob's son and wife were in visiting for the summer but are back in Vietman. Bike ride in New Brunswich to Thorold to raise over 100,000 $ for the cause.
. Marlene for the guest speaker
. Milica will chat further with George re bee keeping on their property in Smithville. She enjoyed her trip to Vancouver island for 2 weeks.
. Randi loved tonight's meal

. Gino for sponsorship to the Big Cancer Ride and for George's talk
. Annette having a big bash that clashes with Lobsterfest. It's at her place of business from 11 to 2 on Sept 12th. It's raising funds for the big move cancer ride.
. Linda is cancelling her pesticide spray for spiders after George's speech. She also congratulated her for her new bookmark.
