Willy, distributed lobsterfest tickets (Sept 12th) to get an early start on ticket sales; lobsterfest meeting will be announced shortly, it won't bet on a Wednesday.
Janet, announced Bingo on Sunday. You need to be trained in order to volunteer; a second date is forthcoming.
Jon received an email from Richard re Rockway Bridge appreciation ceremony to be held on Sat June 27th at 11am. We donated $500. Marlene will be in attendance so please contact her should you be available.
 
GUEST SPEAKER
 
Willy introduced Scott Robinson and his project 'Kayak for the Cure Niagara'. Scott is 18 yrs old and a graduate from Laura Secord. He is currently in the business program at McMaster. He's passionate about youth leadership. He's a former Slapshot graduate. From Slapshot, he attended the Central Ontario Leadership Program which inspired him and changed his life. He is currently the alumni coordinate of that program and encourages patrons to continue their journey once they leave the program.
He's currently involved in the Commerce Society at McMaster as well as the Canadian Cancer Society with fundraising. He is passionate about outdoor activities and discovered kayaking.

Fundraising Events :
In December, he and 3 friends went caroling door to door to raise $ for cancer research. They raised $1,200 in one evening.
His band raised more money playing at an event called Christmas for the Cure
March18th he coordinated a raffle of Ontario's largest chocolate Easter bunny. It raised $1,800.
He received a free kayak from a store owner in Dunville.
Several concerts are planned this summer (July 5th at Simcoe Park NOTL) and all proceeds are going to his project.
The Oban Inn and NOTL Tennis Club are all contributing.
August 9th you can join his kayaking team going up the Niagara river.
The final Trek from Port Dalhousie to Toronto is 52 km. The paddle may take 12 to 16 hrs.
Tracey, Chair of Community and Civic Affairs, called upon the Board to vote for a $500 donation. Milica also passed around an envelope for donations.

Sandi loved Scott was taking Commerce at  McMaster like her, enjoyed her workshop Rotary Leadership seminar. She learned a lot about Talk of polio +. Found out that Gary's cousin Bill, had polio. Rotary is celebrating its 30th anniversary of fighting polio.
Jim remembers the estimated 10 year project of Polio + that has turned out to be 30. While in University he blew off an exam to go and drink in Hull, Quebec. Started preparation for the ride for cancer with Gino.
Mary thanked all for attending her sister's funeral. Youngest sister is a cancer survivor. Nephew's girlfriend was one of 2 Hamilton policewomen to win millions

Linda has been kayaking over 20 years - her kayak has a little motor though which she offered to lend Scott for trip
Gary 15 years ago was on a support boat on a Lake Ontario crossing;  Joined the RV fellowship going to Barrie for a Rotary rally with the fellowship club.  Linda joined too!
Jon enjoyed seeing Michel Guertin today. Happy to see Tracey back. He's also happy about this being his last meeting as President .
