GUEST SPEAKER: D'Arcy Wilson

Bruce Timms introduced D'Arcy.

D'ARcy gave us an excellent history of the canal thru structure and activity going thru the canal. He updated us on last years project of lock 2 and how in 10 weeks the walls have to be completed in our for the new season. A very tight schedule.

This year's project of Lock 1 wall tie up is in conjunction with our park. He assured us that it will be back to the same as before. At present they are only using our parking lot but the rest of the park is usable. The paths are also not accessible near the park but will be back in the spring. D'Arcy explained unfortunately the noise level and land vibrations necessary to get the large steel pounded into the ground. They do work with neighbors to make sure thru the night acceptable

Many questions were asked and answered of this exciting project in our backyard similar to the Panama Canal

Jon thanked the speaker and offered up our club mug as a token of our appreciation.
