FUND RAISER REVIEW by Gary Chard, Chair of Ways and Means Committee
- Mary’s financial overview of our “Club Service Activities” throughout the years, were distributed.
- Our Fundraising revenue is down compared to the monies that we need to keep supporting our causes.
- We need a new Event or update/change the existing ones.
- Lobster Fest revenue has slid thru the years, do we scrap this event or re-organize it such as a lower Ticket price, beef replaced with ribs, limit lobster etc.
- Two ideas were to specifically Market it with a specific purpose, instead of Rotary in general or to join with another Organization on a percentage basis.
- Other Fundraising Options included: a 2nd Trivia Nite with a theme, different location for a dinner & silent auction or join with an organization such as the Jaycees and hopefully encourage them to join as Members.
- Brainstorming new Idea: Wings with local beers & football. Held on a Sunday 12-7:30. In a location with 3 large screen TVS. Invite a competition of local Breweries & Restaurants for Best Beer & Best Wings. An entry fee of $10.00 with beer & wings purchased separately. This Event would draw the younger crowd and perhaps partnering with the Jaycees would be helpful.
- Willy has again offered to stand as Chairman for Lobster Fest. We need to be positive that any new Event is feasible & lucrative before we cancel Lobster Fest for this year which netted about $9,000.00
