George Park introduced our speaker Deborah Power.
Deborah started telling the story of a sickly 17 year old girl that turned into a 10 year saga of hospital stays, experimental  treatments, multiple
blood donors, bone marrow samplings. In the end we were listing to a living miracle of modern science. Deborah the longest living  bone marrow
recipient survivor after 41 years.  Deborah challenged us to give up an hour and a pint to save lives against other rotary clubs in our area. 
The clinic needs speakers, drivers, volunteers.Your blood the most renewable energy source in the world.
Our speaker was thanked by Mark Zammit and explained the gift given on Deborah’s behalf to Free the Children Charity.
 
Steve Tenyenhuis informed us today is Pia’s last meeting. She has excelled in music, drama, rotary activities locally and district, an excellent
ambassador
for Rotary and Germany. Jean Armitage was her counsellor, hosts Peter Van Rooijen, Cindy and Derek Mewhinney,  Rick and Jane Evans
who welcomed Pia’s sister Ada Zimmerman, John and Libby Crossingham, Jennifer Hendrick, George and Heather Darte.
Steve further announced that our incoming exchange student is named Charlotte Webbe from Finland.
Pia got her moment to thank all the fantastic host families, for all the unforgettable experiences that she will hold in her heart.
We wish her continues success in the future.
