Fellow Rotarians and Friends of the Monadnock Rotary Club

As I write this I can't believe how bright, sunny and warm it is!! Is is really December?

Our speaker for the week of November 29, 2015, was Chris Mann, President of the Peterborough Human Services Fund.  The "Fund" operates the Peterborough Food Pantry and is also a NH Food Bank approved agency.  Chris shared with us some disturbing facts including that one in seven people in NH are food insecure and don't know where their next meal is coming from.  In our area, The Food Pantry provides food for approximately 300 families per month who come from the 13 towns in the greater Peterborough region.  The "Fund" operates with an all volunteer staff and board and their support comes entirely from donations and grants.  94% of donations go directly to accomplishing their mission.

The Food Pantry participates in "The Hungry Students Program" which supplies healthy snacks and emergency vacation food to social workers nurses and teachers in the eleven Conval schools.  They in turn help feed children who are hungry at school and food insecure at home.  The "Fund" welcomes monetary donations in any amount throughout the year.

Our next meeting will be December 8, 2015, at the Dublin Community Church starting at 7:30 AM.  Our speaker will be our own Travis Kumpf.  John Goodhue has the Invocation and Kevin McElhinney has the Hat.
