Fellow Rotarians and Friends of the Monadnock Rotary Club

Our speaker for the week of November 15, 2015, was Wayne Thomas, Commander, Cheney-Armstrong Post #5 of the American Legion.  Wayne gave a very interesting talk about the activities of Post #5 and reminded us of the debt we all owe to our veterans.  In particular, Post #5 supports veterans in our area but also such programs as Boys State, Girls State, and the American Legion Award to the Outstanding Eight grade boy and girl, the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps Monadnock Squadron, and Oratorical in the Schools.  The Post also created a Remembrance Walkway at the Memorial Gates located between the Peterborough Historical Society and the Peterborough Town House.  The Post hangs seasonal wreaths throughout the year and also helps the children of veterans who are suffering hardships including giving children of veterans and deceased veterans scholarships.  In closing, Wayne reminded us all to remember our veterans service and their service to our Nation.

There is no meeting Tuesday, November 24, 2015, because of the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Our next meeting will be December 1, 2015, at the Dublin Community Church starting at 7:30 AM.  Our speaker will be Chris Mann.  Vance Finch has the Invocation and Cassie Cleverly has the Hat.
