Fellow Rotarians and Friends of the Monadnock Rotary Club

Finally my garden is in full bloom.  The zucchini is abundant, the new potatoes are in, but unfortunately, the tomatoes are still "thinking about things."

Our speaker last week was Marjorie Droppa, PhD, who is the Project Director for Impact Monadnock's Early Childhood Development Initiative.  Impact Monadnock is a local non-profit organization focused on using a Collective Impact approach to achieve meaningful and sustainable change in the Monadnock Region.  Marj presented some of the results from a detailed study of this Region that showed the Region is lagging behind other parts of New Hampshire in Early Childhood Development, which includes the ages from birth to 5 years, and thus is a focus for the Impact Monadnock initiative.  For more information or to share ideas, Marj can be reached at marj@muw.org.

Our next meeting will be August 4, 2015, at the Dublin Community Church starting at 7:30 AM.  Our speaker will be myself and the topic will be "What Is The Electric Grid and Why Should We Care."  Given the impact on the Grid of the shutdown of Vermont "Yankee" and of the proposed "Northern Pass" line, please come to ask a lot of questions.

Tom Warren has the Invocation and Bill Gurney has the Hat.

There will me a meeting of the Wellness Festival right after the Rotary Meeting.

See you on Tuesday
