Vision 2020 Champions!

 

As one of Vision 2020’s first Organizational Champions, Elm City Rotary’s wellness journey has positively impacted our members and the larger community. Using the web-based America on the Move tracking tool club members have logged more than 110 million steps in 2 years and created club challenges to motivate more activity and connect the club’s charitable giving to meetings those step goals. The club has created a permanent wellness committee, chaired by Liz Coppola. Several club members have served on the Healthiest Community Advisory Board, Vision 2020 Champions Advisory Committee, or supported Vision 2020/HEAL worksite initiatives. And this year the club partnered with other Vision 2020 Organizational Champions, Advocates for Healthy Youth and MoCo Arts, to create the annual Kid’s DeMar Marathon that energized over 360 local school children from 15 area schools to run or walk 25 miles and then complete their marathon with a 1.2 mile run September 30, 2012 the DeMar marathon.
