Rotary Club of Ventura East completed its first major event for the new Rotary Year.  Continuing with a tradition that began in 1976, the club organized and sponsored this year's "Pushem - Pullem" Parade - kicking off the 4th of July celebrations in the City of Ventura.

As in previous years, yesterday's parade was well attended by children and parents of all ages, all decked out in their finest 4th of July regalia. Many participants brought their own self-propelled transport, in the form of wagons, tricycles, bicycles, strollers, and the occasional choo-choo train - all extravagantly decorated in true 4th of July spirit.

The Parade kicked off at 10:00 AM, with thousands of participants walking (or riding) down Main Street from Cemetery Memorial Park to Plaza Park - and the Street Fair - in the Center of Downtown Ventura.
