Rotary Donation to I Care International

The Rotary Club of San Luis Obispo de Tolosa in California granted I Care International $1,500 for sunglasses, readers, and special orders for the Pachacamac, Peru trip in March 2015.
Sandra Lee, Martha Lindholm, and Charlene Rosales represented Rotary in San Luis Obispo as volunteers on the trip. Dr. Rupert Chowins, one of the volunteer optometrists on the trip, used the donation to purchase 600 pairs of sunglasses, 700 readers, and approximately 66 special order prescriptions. The San Luis Obispo Noor Foundation will donate the frames for the special orders, many of which will go to children.
Thank you to Rotary de Tolosa, Dr. Chowins, and the Noor Foundation in San Luis Obispo for helping approximately 1,400 individuals at the clinic who otherwise wouldn’t have received the gift of improved vision. In addition to the readers and sunglasses, 1,100 pairs of glasses were distributed at the clinic.
