Rotarians around the world are steadfastly united in the effort to eradicate polio.  Join us at the District 5240 Conference in Bakersfield, and together we’ll raise a glass to the elimination of this deadly disease.

Pints For Polio
a FUN-raiser hosted by the Rotary Club of Montecito

Friday, October 5th

5-9 pm at Temblor Brewing Co.

For $25 you’ll receive:

  • a commemorative glass (while supplies last)
  • entrance to our host facility at Temblor Brewing Co.
  • live musical entertainment featuring Dueling Pianos
There’ll be a special menu to satisfy the heartiest appetite, and a variety of beverage options… including the non-alcoholic kind!

All registration fees (and a percentage of the evening’s food and beverage tab) will be donated to Rotary’s “End Polio Now” campaign and matched 2:1 thanks to the generosity of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation!  So, for every $1 raised, $3 will go towards polio eradication.

ABOUT ROTARY'S MISSION TO ERADICATE POLIO

The Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) is committed to achieving a polio-free world. Rotary is a spearheading partner in the GPEI, along with the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Gates Foundation. The goal of the initiative is the global certification of polio eradication.

Through the work of GPEI, more than five million people, mainly in the developing world, who would otherwise have been paralyzed, are walking because they have been immunized against polio, and more than 500,000 cases of polio are prevented each year due to the efforts of governments and GPEI partnership. Transmission of the polio virus has been stopped in all but three countries – Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Nigeria – and the virus is being contained within increasingly smaller geographic areas within those countries.
