Kirk Boxleitner has been a news reporter for the Marysville Globe and Arlington Times for 12 years, winning his first Washington Newspaper Publishers Association award for one of his very first stories, and contributing again to the two papers' near-record haul of 13 WNPA awards last year.

Prior to that, he served as an enlisted Navy journalist for seven years, working in radio and television news in both Japan and Italy, before being stationed on board USS Theodore Roosevelt, in time for the aircraft carrier's post-9/11 deployments as part of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom.
