Announcement of revisions to the ByLaws - Vote on October 26
On September 29, 2016, the Bylaws of the Rotary Club of Seattle were amended by a supermajority (2/3) vote of the Club’s Board of Directors.
Examples of material changes to the Bylaws are:
Allows for an officer or board member to fill a partial term followed by a full term.
Changes the size of the board of directors from a set number to a range of 15-25.
Allows for board action by unanimous written consent, and to hold meetings by telephone conference.
Allows for special meetings by both Club members and the board.
The amended Bylaws require that members of the Seattle Rotary Club vote on the amended Bylaws at a regular Club meeting. This vote will occur during our lunch meeting on Wednesday, October 26, 2016.
You can access the amended Bylaws by logging into Club Runner and clicking on “My Club Runner (in Admin)” and then “View Club Documents.” Or, click here for the pdf.

If Nima's passion, energy and dedication are any indication, the city of Seattle and the Rotary Club of Seattle are about to be taken by storm, via Solution Chiropractic and Nima's dedication to service above self. Please join me in welcoming our newest member, Dr. Nima Samiee.
Lindsay serves as Executive Director of the Hearing, Speech, and Deaf Center, a non-profit serving Western Washington clients who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have communication disorders. Lindsay was appointed to the position two years ago, and as you will see the role is perfect for harnessing her interests and training.

The joint project of the Seattle 4 Education and Community Service Committees, funded by your SRSF, provides almost 600 dictionaries for third graders in some of Seattle’s most needy schools.
Your help is needed with the distribution to the children in their classrooms. We work in teams of two and have dictionaries for 10 schools.

You will be fascinated with all the amazing work Rotarians are doing throughout District 5030. Please read the D5030 newsletter, Bridges, and look for fellowship and service opportunities that appeal to you. You will love the reception you get as a Seattle #4 Rotarian!! We are the biggest club in the district but relatively under represented at District events. It is a big hit when we show up!!
Seattle Rotary Online is a significant marketing opportunity that is available to organizations that wish to help co-sponsor it. Intended as a library where you can just pull a speaker’s presentation off the shelf, Seattle Rotary Online has been sponsored by First Choice Health CEO, Ken Hamm. Ken is willing to share the financial load (and public awareness!) with companies or other organizations that wish broader awareness within the club or community.
Sponsorships are available for as little as $500. Please contact Seattle 4 Rotarian, David Endicott by email or at 206-409-3275.
