It is my pleasure to introduce our newest member, Kelly O’Brien, vice president of philanthropy at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.  Kelly has been nominated by Carl Behnke and Karl Ege and her classification is Health Care.
Kelly was born in the New York City area but grew up in Florida.  She pursued her undergraduate degrees in political science and economics at Emory University in Atlanta, and after graduation started doing fundraising work for the university.  In 1997, she and her husband, Robert, moved to Seattle for a position he was taking at Westin Hotels and she landed a position at the Seattle Art Museum. That was their first opportunity to fall in love with our city.

In 2001, they moved to Philadelphia where she took a position with the Philadelphia Art Museum, moving from the position of major gifts officer to executive director of development and campaign director.

The vice president position at Fred Hutch presented itself two years ago, so they decided to leave behind the City of Brotherly Love and return to the Emerald City.

When not securing resources for the elimination of cancer and related diseases and now attending Rotary meetings, Kelly enjoys hiking, traveling, and reading.

Please join me in welcoming our newest member, Kelly O’Brien.
