Bob received his JD from New York University School of Law. He earned a BA in political science from the University of Washington, where he was student body president. In 2003 he was elected to the King County Council. When the council was reduced from 13 to 9 members, he was eliminated. He was later re-elected and ran unopposed in 2009.
