June 6, 2016

Opening

President Chuck opened the meeting at 12:25. He noted that this was the 72nd anniversary of the D-Day landings on Normandy. A large crowd, of Club members and guests, was on hand for one of the favorite meetings of the year: the annual, end-of-year, Rotary Student Scholarship presentations.

Announcements:

President Chuck Snyder has a request for all Committee Chairpersons: please put together a simple report on the accomplishments of your committee for this past Rotary year, and send to him at candjsnyder@comcast.net as soon as possible.

The Rotary Cruise on June 20 is full, but chairman Marty Haines is still taking names to be on the standby list. Please contact Sandee at rcob@comcast.net directly if interested in being on that list, as it will be "first come, first served." This year's cruise destination is Dick Tucker’s cabin on Eliza Island. There is a cost of $13 each for the cruise (and lunch), to be paid to Sandee before the cruise, if possible. Payment can be mailed to 2200 Vining St., Bellingham, 98229.

Tom Kenney announced the formation of informal summer golf outings for those wishing to play on a few Mondays after the noon luncheon meeting.  For more information contact Tom at Tom.Kenney@wafd.com. There are, and will be, sign-up sheets on the tables.
