Children & Cyberbullying

Overview: Dr. David Sattler, of the Western Institute for Social Research and Department of Psychology (WWU) will present an overview of cyberbullying occurring on social media, including what cyberbullying is and what is being done about it, and how we as parents, grandparents and a community can prevent cyberbullying and protect our children.

Bio:  Dr. David Sattler is Professor of Psychology at Western Washington University. He received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from San Diego State University, and his master’s and doctorate degrees from Michigan State University. His research examines how people respond to traumatic events in a variety of situations. Together with his students, he has been examining cyberbullying and the influence of social norms on the internet.
