Overview:

An introduction to Bellingham’s Spark Museum of Electrical Invention by co-founder and President/CEO John Jenkins.  John will share some of the museum’s history, discuss the world-class collection of electrical artifacts and provide an overview of their education programs. John will also describe the rebranding process that resulted in the major turnaround of the Museum three years ago.

Bio:

John Jenkins is President & CEO of the Spark Museum of Electrical Invention, located in Bellingham, Wash­ington, John is a long time collector of early radio and scientific apparatus, a former Hewlett Packard engineer and retired Microsoft executive. He is a member of several professional associations including the History of Science Society, The Society for the History of Technology, and the IEEE.   His interests include the history of science and technology, electronic and computer related technologies, and nearly 50 years as a collector of early radio and electrical scientific apparatus.  John lectures and writes on topics related to the history of technology, and in his free time he can be found hiking in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest.
