At our meeting on September 15, the Director and Associate Director of Membership, Mike Britt and Lyanne Rolf, inducted our two newest members--Chrys Sweeting and Jonathan Ventura.

           Chrys Sweeting
 
Chrys grew up in Portland.  She moved to Federal Way as a junior in high school and graduated from Federal Way High School.  She earned a Bachelors Degree from Central Washington University in Special Education and her Masters and Doctorate Degrees from the University of Washington in Educational Leadership and Leadership for Learning.
 
The Arlington School District hired Chrys to serve as its new Superintendent.  Most recently she served as an assistant superintendent for the Puyallup School District.  She considers her calling and life career to be supporting the learning and growth of people no matter what the age.
 
Together with her husband Dave, they have raised 6 children--5 sons and 1 daughter.  They have 6 grandchildren.  Dave just retired as a teacher at Stadium High School in Tacoma.  They love to travel, camp and spend time with family. 
 
      Jonathan Ventura
 
Jonathan has been with the Arlington Police Department since August 2000.  He became its Chief in June of this year.  His Bachelors Degree is from Columbia College with an emphasis in Criminal Justice and he attended the Law Enforcement Academy in Spokane.
 
Previously Jonathan was in the Navy and is a veteran.  As a former reservist, he was stationed at Naval Station Everett where he was a law enforcement training instructor for the Security Police.  He also worked for the Drug Enforcement Agency where he was assigned to the high intensity drug trafficking area/airport task force at SeaTac Airport.
 
Jonathan and his wife Stacie live in Arlington with their children.
