Sixty eight families will have more food on their holiday table thanks to the generosity of Arlington Rotarians.  The names of the families are provided by the Arlington Community Food Bank.  Based on the number of baskets contributed by members, a fixed list of food items are purchased at the local Safeway and transported by members to a site to sort and box.  This year we previewed a new place to sort, as well as the meeting location for our regular Thursday noon meeting starting January 8.

 

 

After Christmas, the club matches the dollars contributed by our members for baskets and gives the food bank funds to start the new year.  In addition this year an additional $2,000 was contributed to the food bank as a result of the Loren Van Loo 50th birthday party.

Our public relations committee provides a card for each basket so the families know that their food basket is a project of the Rotary Club of Arlington.
