The 2016 Dick Post Memorial Golf Tournament is now history.  Over 40 golfers teed off in a shotgun start of a best ball scramble. 

 

Past Presidents of the club organize the event each year.  Jim Minifie and Dale Duskin organize the golf, Gene Chase Chase takes on the after golf fireside at the Chase residence, and Karri Hansen and Craig Chase arrange for trophies.

 

Java Joe's catered the food at the Chases' and Gene tended the bar.  Many of the table and chairs were provided by the Huleatts who helped with the set up.

 

President Erik Granroth announced the winners of various categories and presented trophies.

 

Before the tournament was named after Dick Post, we had an annual tournament that was cancelled one year.  Word didn't get transmitted to the foursome of Dale Duskin, John Dykstra, Rob Dickson and Ron Love.  After playing a round the foursome decided that they were the winners of the tournament and so they acquired a trophy to have presented to themselves at the next regular meeting.  Somehow, since then, the trophy always seem to get awarded to the same foursome with substitutes now and then.  This year the subs were Tom Lane and Eric Alexander.

 

Team low score went to Linda and Denny Byrnes, Josh Doudy, and Jeff and Cindy Huleatt:

 

The Master of the Woods and Yards went to Kim Gustafson.  He left before he could get his trophy that is being held above by President Erik.  Another person missing from the presentation was Brent Waters, who with 4 balls in sand traps took the Master Sand Trap trophy.

 

With 3 balls into water hazards, the Master of Water Hazards trophy went to Tom Lane:

 

Closest to the pin for men was won by John Peeters and for the women, Jola Barnett.

 

Longest drives were awarded to two spouses of Rotarians--Russ DeVries and Carol Duskin.  Carol left before the trophy presentation but here is Russ:
