Dec. 22, 2016 12:00 p.m.
It's time to get your calendars out and block off Thursday 12/22/16. That is the day we arrange and deliver Christmas dinner baskets to needy families. We will be meeting at the Boys and Girls Club at 12:00 to arrange baskets. The address is 18513 59th ave NE Arlington. Don't forget to block off a little extra time to deliver boxes if your schedule allows it. We have a goal to provide dinners to 70 families this year, and will be passing out the sign ups at the regular meetings over the next couple weeks. For those who can't make it to the meeting, please message me back and let me know if you would like to commit $70 for a basket. We may not know the exact impact of each basket we deliver. But one thing is for sure, we are making a whole lot of family's holiday, a little more special |

Feb. 07, 2017 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
A meeting for our club to discuss some "housekeeping" types of items with regards to our club policies, billing structure and membership. The club will be providing some light appetizers and you will be able to order drinks and dinner on your own if you like. We plan to begin the discussion right about 6 pm. Please join us and help us make your Rotary club the best service club in all the land (even though it is already really awesome!). We will be discussing items that can be brought forward for formal changes to our club by-laws. This is your Rotary club and your input would be highly valued. Below is a sample list of some of the items that will be up for discussion. Should we continue our policy of members paying for lunches semiannually even if you don’t attend each meeting? If so, should we continue to make an exception for those qualifying under the rule of 85? If so, should we continue to make an exception for those granted a leave of absence? Do you favor continuing to have a voluntary donation to the Rotary Foundation included on the statement? Do you favor making a contribution to the Rotary Foundation a condition of membership in the club? Would you support creating a family membership where either spouse may attend the meeting to reduce their time/financial obligations? Would you support creating a corporate/business membership where more than one person from the business may attend the meeting to reduce their time/financial obligation? Do you believe that our regular club meetings should occur less than weekly? Would you favor a category of membership with alternate ways for a member to engage with the club when those members are unable to attend regular club meetings (such as people with young families, jobs outside the local community, snowbirds etc.)? Would you favor creating a satellite to our club where persons who can’t attend lunch meetings could attend, e.g. a meeting without a meal at the end of the work day?

Feb. 25, 2017 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
For February's service project we are cleaning up our community! On 2/25/17 the Arlington Rotary Club is going to partner with the Stanwood Lions Club, Lake Goodwin Community Club and Reclamation Church to Adopt cleaning up part of a highway. This should be a pretty quick project if we can get a good group of people committed. All you need is your work gloves and Rotary At Work shirts. Since we are going to be on a highway with minimal shoulder, this is probably not a good project for little ones to join in. But....we will have a great project for them next month! We will be meeting at 9:30am at 17323 42nd Ave NW, Stanwood, WA 98292 |

Mar. 10, 2017 7:00 p.m.
A night at the theater to see the AHS Drama Department's production of "Guys and Dolls". Guys and Dolls is a musical romantic comedy involving the unlikeliest of Manhattan pairings: a high-rolling gambler and a puritanical missionary, a showgirl dreaming of the straight-and-narrow and a crap game manager who is anything but. Carla will be hosting a pre-function at her home in Glen Eagle with registration as a separate event. We need a count of those attending the play so we can order a block of tickets. If you have not registered at or before the meeting on Feb. 16, you need to go to the B-PAC site and by your tickets: www.byrnesperformingarts.org $8 for students and seniors and $10 for adults. |

We need a count to plan for lunch. Bring compressors and nail guns if you have them. We have a couple projects of varying skill sets so everyone and anyone can sign up. We need help rebuilding the deck on the back of the dining hall at Fire Mountain Boy Scout Camp and putting in a few posts-and-two-ropes fence at the new swim beach that we constructed last time. There will be lunch afterwards, so please sign up ASAP, so we can plan accordingly. |
