Members of the Urban Waters Society led by Darlene James gave us a presentation on what they do in protecting and reclaiming Urban Waters
and their Stewardship of the Quibble Creek project that we designated as our Rotary Centenary project in 2005. Where we took a creek that had been blighted by urban misuse and had basically died and with much work by members led by John Koropatnisky brought it back to life.
Over $200,000 that we raised through our parking lots was expended into the creek and its infrastructure. Darlene spoke of other activities that they had undertaken over the years and their willingness to assist in the Creation of a Community Pathway across the property beside Quibble Creek.Other members of the society at our meeting were Kiyomi Holman,Don McKinnon and Paul Regier.
